Once you've approved a viewing request, we’ll ask you to provide your availability so the buyer can book a viewing. Both you and the buyer will receive a viewing confirmation email, along with reminders the day before.
Who conducts the viewing?
We encourage you to show buyers your home. On the day of the viewing, you’ll meet with the buyer directly, without anyone from the Ostrich team present.
Why are owner-led viewings better?
Owner-led viewings are preferred by buyers and in our experience are more likely to result in a sale.
You know your home better than anyone, making you the perfect person to answer questions and share what makes it such a special place to live.
Meeting face-to-face also allows buyers and sellers to build a personal connection and understand each other’s perspectives, which can prevent issues later in the process.
Additionally, by conducting the viewing yourself, you avoid the inconvenience of handing over keys or vacating your home for an agent-led viewing.
How long will the viewing take?
We allocate a 30-minute time slot for each viewing. In our experience, this is the maximum time a buyer requires, and often viewings are completed in less time.
How should I conduct the viewing?
For tips on conducting a successful viewing, you can read our guide to conducting viewings.
What about safety and security?
Your safety and security are our top priorities. We verify the identity of every buyer who makes a viewing request using their passport or driving licence. With Ostrich, you approve each viewing based on the buyer’s indicative offer and profile.
What happens after the viewing?
After the viewing, the Ostrich team will follow up with the buyer to get their feedback and see if they're interested in scheduling another visit or making a formal offer.
