When a verified buyer is interested in viewing your property, you’ll receive an email notification with their request. This will include the buyer's bio, a note on what appeals to them about your property, and an indicative offer.
If you’re interested in arranging a viewing, you'll be prompted to set your availability so that we can share it directly with the buyer.
For future viewing requests, we’ll automatically pre-select the time slots you’ve previously chosen. If your availability has changed, please make sure you remove any time slots which are no longer convenient, before confirming.
Where a buyer has scheduled a viewing, the corresponding time slot will be grey and crossed-out.
Note: If you update your availability at any point, the most recent time slots you've selected will be visible to any buyers who have been invited to view your property, but not yet booked a time.
What happens when a buyer books a viewing?
When the buyer selects a time, you’ll receive a viewing confirmation email. The email will include all the details of the viewing, including anyone attending with the buyer.
How do I keep track of viewings that have been booked?
Details of all your viewings can be found in your Ostrich account, just make sure you've switched to "Seller" mode. We’ll also send you a reminder email and text the day before.
How do I reschedule or cancel a viewing?
If you need to reschedule or cancel a viewing, please email the Ostrich team at viewings@ostrich.co.uk or call us on 020 4600 8749. We’re happy to help with any changes.
What happens if the buyer can’t do the times I provided?
If none of the times you’ve proposed work for the buyer, you’ll receive an email notification requesting that you add additional time slots. We’ll include a note from the buyer with details of their availability, to help you find a suitable time. When you've updated your time slots, we’ll let the buyer know.
What happens if all the times I set have already been booked?
If all the time slots you selected have either been booked or are now in the past, you’ll receive an email notification requesting that you add additional availability. Once you confirm your new time slots, we’ll notify the buyer.
How do I update my availability if my schedule changes?
If your plans change at any point, you can update your availability in your Ostrich account. If you open the details for a viewing request, there is an option to “Add more availability”. This will allow you to add, edit and remove time slots.
How will I receive feedback after the viewing?
After the viewing, the Ostrich team will speak to the buyer to get their feedback and share this with you. We can also help with arranging second viewings or advising the buyer on how to make a formal offer.
Do I have to host viewings myself?
We always recommend you host your own viewings.
You know your home best, making you the perfect person to answer questions and share what makes it special. This personal touch often increases the chances of a sale.
If you're unable to host the viewing, choose “Speak to Ostrich” when responding to a viewing request.
