It’s easy to change or cancel a viewing in your Ostrich account. You’ll find all your upcoming viewings in the Viewings section of your Seller dashboard. Just make sure you Switch to seller when you log in.
Choose Manage Viewing on any booking to open the full conversation with that buyer. From there, you’ll see options to cancel or reschedule if anything changes.
How do I cancel a viewing?
If something's come up and you no longer want to go ahead with a viewing, you can cancel it anytime. You’ll be asked to choose a reason, to give the buyer some context.
Once you confirm, the viewing will be cancelled immediately, and the buyer will be notified. We understand things change - we just ask you to try and give as much notice as possible.
How do I reschedule a viewing?
If the time no longer works for you but you're still happy to go ahead, you can reschedule the viewing instead of cancelling it. The original viewing will be cancelled automatically, and the buyer will be notified straight away that you're happy to reschedule.
Before they can rebook, you’ll be asked to confirm that your viewing availability is up-to-date. Once that’s done, they’ll be able to choose a new time to visit.
When the buyer selects a time, you’ll receive a viewing confirmation email. The email will provide all the details of the viewing, including anyone attending with the buyer.
What if the buyer needs to cancel?
If a buyer needs to cancel a viewing, you’ll be notified right away by email and text, along with a reason for their change of plans. We encourage buyers to let you know as soon as they can, as we know it can be frustrating when you’ve set time aside for a viewing.
What if the buyer needs to reschedule?
When a buyer needs to reschedule, you’ll be notified right away by email and text that the original viewing has been cancelled, and that the buyer would like to come another time. It’s totally up to you whether you’re open to letting them reschedule.
If you’re happy to reschedule, select Yes, let’s get something booked in! and you’ll be prompted to confirm your viewing availability to make sure it’s up-to-date. Once that’s done, the buyer will be notified and can choose a new time.
When the buyer selects a time, you’ll receive a new viewing confirmation email.
If you’ve changed your mind for any reason and are not happy for the buyer to rebook, you can choose No, my plans have changed. You’ll be asked to share a note with the buyer to give some context.
